“Hey kid, what’s your story about?”
Grace is a quiet country girl from a poor area of the Midwest. She doesn't even understand her poverty because because her family has a place to live and food on the table. When a small series of minor setbacks cause her family to find themselves in a untenable situation. Grace and her family try to do all of the right things but every turn they are caught in a maze of regulation red-tape, paper pushers and the family situation becomes so desperate the family must reach for some extreme measures to stay together, survive and try to find a way to rebuild their lives.

“Hopes, Fears and The Right Challenge”
Yesterday you either developed a killer character or a compelling situation. Every great story needs both, of course! So today we will work on the one we didn’t choose yesterday.
Grace's biggest fear is of change. Even as an upper middle school student. While most student's her age can't wait to grow up, or are still trying to be a kid. She thoroughly enjoys the life she lives. She loves her family, I think she has a very outgoing younger brother. She is fiercely proud of her family and their individualism. They make ends meet, while it's a struggle and they don't have the nicest house, or the very best things, the newest computer, technology or gadgets, they are doing OK, living in their small home. She is most proud of the ability to survive and thrive without help or assistance of any kind. She actually enjoys spending time with her family on evenings and weekends when her friends complain about it, or spend their time on their phone she is very quietly present. Yet, her friends don't make fun of her for enjoying time with her family.
